DC08: Alteration as an archive of past air pollution
Objectives
  • Characterise stratigraphy of alteration layers in stained glass.
  • Correlate composition of layers (with a specific focus on lead – Pb) with historical air pollution profiles and environmental drivers.
Expected results
  • Establishment of stained glass as an archive for reconstructing past pollution histories by studying the glass stratigraphy. Improved capacity to design tailored conservation plans informed by environmental legacies.
